All that you touch, you change.

All that you change, changes you.

Octavia Butler, Parable of the Sower

The environment and space we inhabit has an influence on our bodies. It can impact the state of ones nervous system, our literal sense of comfort and safety. What is around us - the objects, colors, textures, sounds, aesthetic can influence where we put our attention and focus. It can also simply be helpful to know what to expect when coming to therapy and have a visual image of the space.

The vibe of a space is important because it sets the tone for what is possible within the therapeutic container. Does it encourage vulnerability and give one permission to cry? Does it spark curiosity and surface questions in oneself? Does it foster connection and trust that the space can hold all the parts of someone? These are the questions I think about and help guide me in creating a space for you.

I make use of the indoors and the outdoors, as the natural world is often a balm for the nervous system, a mirror to our own patterns, and an invitation to gain perspective. Tangibly, making use of the outdoors can look like swinging on the big swing, walking along the creek, finding rocks, moving through the forest, listening to the sounds of nature, taking in the seasonal shifts, and so much more.

Let me welcome you to our space.
